From a $350 Pizza Prep Table to a Full Kitchen: A Spanish Client's Success Story

When you run a commercial kitchen equipment factory, the best projects rarely start big. They start with one question.

For our client in Spain — we'll call them "ES" — it began with a single message: "Do you have a small pizza prep table?"

This is the story of how that one inquiry grew into a complete kitchen equipment package: pizza prep tables, a 60 kg commercial ice maker, and a display freezer. No flashy sales tactics. Just technical precision, fast response, and a willingness to customize.

If you're sourcing commercial kitchen equipment for your business, here's exactly how we work — and what you can expect when you order from a real factory.

It Started With a Single Product

ES's first message was short: "Pizza prep table — do you have a small one?"

We quoted directly: $350/unit, standard 220V 50Hz, and sent a real product video on the spot.

The client then asked a string of sharp, procurement-grade questions — the kind that tell you they know exactly what they need:

  1. 1. Dimensions — Is there a smaller size available?
  2. 2. Electrical specs — Voltage and power? Answer: 220V 50Hz, 350W
  3. 3. Logistics data — Weight and volume? Answer: 70 kg per unit, approx. 1.2 CBM
  4. 4. Export capability"Do you export?" Our answer: "We export directly ourselves."

That last point matters more than it looks. When a buyer asks "do you export?", a vague answer loses the deal. We said we handle our own exports — and that signals two things instantly: experience and it's our normal business. International buyers can tell a trader from a real factory in about three sentences.

Cross-Selling Happens When Trust Is Built

Right after the pizza table, ES dropped another line: "Do you have an ice maker? 60 kg."

This is the moment every exporter waits for. Once trust is established, clients start handing you their other needs.

We offered two options immediately:

  1. 1. 80 kg ice maker — factory price RMB 2,500 (ex-works, excluding tax and freight)
  2. 2. 60 kg ice maker — built to spec: 500 × 580 × 800 mm, approx. 0.32 CBM, 45 kg

The client was clearly experienced — they asked for the HS code right away. We provided: 8418699090 (customs code for ice makers).

OEM & Private Label: Your Brand, Our Factory

When ES asked about brand and model numbers for the ice maker and freezer, we were upfront: no brand, no model — but we label for you.

In international trade, that's exactly the advantage a smaller factory offers. Big brands carry a premium but little flexibility. A factory with no fixed label can do what you say: put whatever brand you want on it, with flexible MOQs.

More and more overseas buyers come straight to the factory precisely for this freedom to customize.

Voltage & Plug: The Details That Actually Matter

ES set a hard requirement: "all machinery to voltage 100–240V, 50/60Hz."

That tells you the equipment might be resold across multiple countries. We confirmed: standard 220V, all plugs customizable. ES specifically wanted the UK plug.

Anyone in export knows — voltage compatibility and plug customization are the easiest details to overlook. When a client says "UK plug," and you can deliver it on the spot, that's where you pull ahead.

Inspection Standards: Built Into Production, Not Bolted On After

The final order covered three product lines: pizza prep tables, ice makers, and a display freezer (HL-1580, 220V/50Hz, 280L).

Here's the key player: third-party inspection (Donghong). Their note was a wake-up call: "Shoot the photos per page 2 of the file, or the inspection agency won't pass it."

So we followed the template exactly:

  1. 1. Large labels on the outer carton, small labels on the product
  2. 2. Energy labels and spec tags all in place before photography
  3. 3. Confirm one product, then move to the next ("finish one before starting the next")

After ES paid the RMB 2,000 deposit, we walked the full delivery loop:

  • Sync production — sent real photos so the client could confirm appearance
  • Compliance — all energy labels applied and photo-confirmed
  • Shoot to template — strictly following page 2 of the client's photo guide
  • Precise labeling — large text on cartons, small text on products

ES's final message said it all: "I'll stick on what you mentioned, then send it to you." That's the trust loop closed.

Donghong's final confirmation: "Photos passed. Ready to ship."

What This Means For Your Next Order

Start with one product, scale to a solution. ES began with a single pizza table. By showing real expertise and cooperation, they naturally brought the ice maker and freezer needs to us too.

Details are the currency of trust. From HS codes to voltage, from plugs to energy labels, from photo templates to labeling — every fast, accurate response earns trust. Export isn't a one-time transaction; detail granularity drives repeat orders.

Build inspection standards into production. Donghong's reminder saved us: shoot photos wrong and the agency fails it. Move the client's inspection requirements upstream into production, and you save ten times the effort of fixing it later.
